Seeds of Change Life Coach
Growing those in recovery from surviving to thriving.

What is Recovery Coaching?
A Recovery Coach is a dedicated professional who provides detailed guidance, support, and encouragement to a person in recovery from any type of addiction. A good Recovery Coach can make all the difference in someone’s long-term wellness and sobriety.

What’s the difference between a Sponsor and a Recovery Coach?
A sponsor is a volunteer familiar with the 12-step program who is there for daily check-ins and informal support. A Recovery Coach goes way beyond being a “really good sponsor;” they are a professional who is dedicated to helping those in recovery. A Recovery Coach is usually certified in coaching, and they help a recovery client to dig deep, set specific goals in all areas of life, achieve those goals, and work towards a sober and healthy future. A Recovery Coach is there for day-to-day support, but they also help clients to establish healthy long-term thought patterns, behaviors, and lifestyles.

What can I expect in coaching sessions?
In 1-on-1 Coaching Sessions, we meet in whichever way is most comfortable for you, usually via Zoom or Skype. If you participate in my Re-set, Relax, Revive™ Recovery Method, we will work at a pace that’s best for you. Your coaching journey will have 3 clear steps, and I’ll be by your side through each of those. In our sessions together, I will help guide you to uncover limiting beliefs; learn stress-management and self-care tools; set goals; decide upon steps to accomplish those goals; tap into your greatest potential; reconnect with your passions; and develop a plan for the next stage of your life.

Is a Life Coach the same thing as a therapist?
No. Recovery coaching services often complement mental health services and recovery programs (like SMART Recovery or AA), but coaching is not a substitute for mental health counseling, substance abuse treatment centers, psychological counseling, or the care of a medical professional.
